Amy’s £ for # challenge

My friend Alison, who lives in London, issued me a challenge last week. She said that for every pound I lose between March 12 and June 30, 2010, she would donate  to Team Challenge. She’s also donating £1 for each mile of the race. Currently, £1 is $1.53 USD. So, if I lose 20 pounds by June 30, she’ll donate $30.6 plus $20.04 for a total of $50.64.

I’m taking this challenge! I’m even issuing the challenge to myself. I will donate one pound for each pound I lose plus a pound for each mile of the race.

I lost .6 lbs in the last week. BUT there’s about 14 or 15 weeks until this challenge is up. I could lose 10 pounds, or I could lose 30. If you’d like to join me in this challenge and pledge to donate per pound, please fill out this form. Basically, by filling out the form, you’re pledging your donation of a £ for each pound I lose (or whichever selection you choose).

Remember, the exchange rate could change in the next 14 weeks – higher or lower.

Please note that by filling out the form, you are committing to the donation. I will be counting on you to donate this money. And, I’ll track you down til you do. On June 30 when I weigh in, I’ll tally up the total weight lost and will contact you by phone or e-mail to inform you of your donation amount. Please plan on submitting your payment on my fundraising site NO LATER than midnight on July 3, 2010.

All information will be kept confidential. I will be e-mailing everyone who pledges every 1-2 weeks to update you on my weight loss progress.

I hope you’ll join me in this challenge!

A few more fundraising notes:

  • I will be guest bartending at AJ Bombers April 30th to raise money for Team Challenge from 5:30-9 p.m. I hope you can join me! I’ll have some drink specials and a fabulous raffle! Stay tuned for details. RSVP on Twtvite or Facebook.
  • Join me for Boot Camp with a Purpose, led by certified fitness coach Jeremy Belter on May 22! He’ll kick our butts into shape! Don’t worry if you’ve never done a boot camp before or if you’re out of shape. Boot camps are low-impact (meaning little jumping and no running). Strength training and circuits minimize pain and focus on muscle. If I can do this, trust me – anyone can! It’s just 30 minutes of your time, what do you have to lose? The cost is just $15 for an awesome, kick-butt workout and the money is all donated to Team Challenge. If you can’t make the boot camp but would still like to donate, you can do so online at  Pledge to workout with us 9-10 a.m. May 22. Even if you’re in a different city, you can join us in spirit. Hope you can join me for an awesome workout!
